OCAC INTERNSHIPS

OC Artist Collective (OCAC) is seeking dedicated and passionate interns to join our Media Team and Events Team. These internships offer hands-on experience in a dynamic, artist-driven environment where you’ll contribute to building a vibrant creative community. Whether you’re interested in social media, event planning, or working directly with artists, we have a role for you!

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN

This is an unpaid internship, but we offer college credit for eligible students. Interns will gain real-world experience in the music industry, develop valuable skills in marketing, event planning, media production, and community engagement, and build connections with artists, industry professionals, and fellow creatives. You’ll leave with a strong portfolio, hands-on knowledge, and an expanded professional network to help you in your future career.

Application Process Timeline:

OCAC offers internship opportunities year-round with three seasonal cycles: Fall (August – December), Spring (January – May) and Summer (June – August).

Time Commitment:

Interns should expect to dedicate 8-12 hours per week, depending on their role and current OCAC projects. Some roles may require evening or weekend availability, especially for event-related positions. Flexible remote work is available for certain media and marketing roles, but interns are expected to attend weekly check-ins (virtual or in-person).

 

General Responsibilities for All Interns: 

Collaborate with OCAC team members and fellow interns to support our initiatives. 
Attend regular team meetings and check-ins to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming tasks. 
Stay proactive and take initiative in assigned projects while maintaining clear communication with supervisors.
Represent OCAC professionally at events and within the creative community.
Maintain organization and meet deadlines for tasks and content production.

To be eligible for an OCAC internship, applicants must:

Be passionate about the arts, music, and creative industries.
Be enrolled in college or a recent graduate (college credit is available).
Have strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Be able to commit to the entire internship cycle (Fall, Spring, or Summer).
Have a reliable means of communication and transportation (open for discussion).

MEDIA TEAM INTERNS:


Social Media & Content Creation Intern (2-3 positions)
Develop and schedule engaging posts, reels, and stories for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Create and implement content strategies that align with OCAC’s brand and events.
Track engagement metrics and provide insights for optimization.
Collaborate with other teams to promote upcoming events and artist projects.  

Graphic Design Intern (1-2 positions)
Design promotional materials, event posters, and digital assets.
Maintain branding consistency across all platforms and projects.
Assist in the creation of artist cover art, merchandise designs, and campaign visuals.
Work with the marketing team to brainstorm creative promotional strategies.

Photography & Videography Intern (3-4 positions)
Capture high-quality photos and videos of live events, artist interviews, and community gatherings.
Edit and compile media for social media, marketing materials, and event recaps.
Manage OCAC’s visual archive and curate content for future campaigns.  
Work on editorial content days for upcoming events and artist promotion. 

Public Relations & Communications Intern (1-2 positions)
Write press releases, blog posts, and artist spotlights to highlight OCAC’s initiatives.
Assist in media outreach and securing press coverage for OCAC events.
Manage email newsletters and community updates.

Community Engagement & Discord Manager Intern (1 position)
Moderate and grow OCAC’s Discord community.
Organize virtual discussions, Q&A sessions, and artist (Ask Me Anything sessions where artists interact directly with community members).
Foster a space for artists to collaborate and share work.  

EVENTS TEAM INTERNSHIPS:


Event Planning & Coordination Intern (2 positions)
Assist in planning and executing live music events, open mics, and showcases.
Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and vendor communication.
Help with artist booking and event promotion.

Artist & Talent Relations Intern (1-2 positions)
Liaise with artists, performers, and collaborators.
Assist in onboarding new artists and maintaining relationships.
Help coordinate soundcheck schedules and backstage management.  

Stage Management Intern (1-2 positions)
Ensure smooth event flow and coordinate with performers
Manage equipment setup, sound checks, and stage transitions
Troubleshoot technical issues during live shows
Create set designs and assist sound engineer during shows

Volunteer & Street Team Coordinator Intern (1 position)
Recruit, train, and manage event volunteers
Organize promotional street teams to spread the word about OCAC events
Assist in creating community outreach initiatives

Merchandise, Ticketing & Sales Intern (1 position) 
Assist in managing and selling OCAC merchandise.
Organize and run merch tables at events, tracking sales and inventory.
Expand ticket sales and explore new ticketing platforms for events.
Develop strategies to increase event attendance and revenue.
Build partnerships with local businesses and sponsors to support OCAC events.
